This year, fifteen mathematicians will share funding worth 25 million kronor from Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation’s mathematics program, enabling young mathematicians to conduct research at some of the world’s leading environments for mathematics and then return to Sweden.
The projects focus on combating the corona pandemic by leveraging the SciLifeLab infrastructure. The Wallenberg Centre for Molecular Medicine at Lund University in Sweden has received major funding from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation – operational support worth SEK 150 million plus SEK 68 million for recruitment packages in data-driven life science. The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation’s investment into data-driven Life Science will be positioned in the national infrastructure Science for Life Laboratory. Just over SEK 1 billion has been set aside for 260 doctoral student positions and 210 postdoctoral fellowships that will be advertised in national competition.
